I adored this Brush Prairie backyard wedding! I mean, if you have access to a beautiful piece of private property, why NOT have a backyard wedding?! Plus, this wedding included purple as a main color, and we should all know that purple is my favorite color!

Brush Prairie Backyard Wedding

I met this fun couple back in March when I photographed the groom’s best man’s wedding at Portland Yacht Club! They all have a great laid-back sense of humor, so I was excited to spend another day working with familiar faces! I knew it would be a fun day 🙂

Brush Prairie is a gorgeous little place in the country, just a bit outside of Vancouver and Camas in Washington state. Although it was just a short drive from Portland, but felt a million miles away in terms of seclusion and nature!

The bride wore an amazing dress, and her hair and makeup was perfect. They had their ceremony in front of the cutest arbor that looked like a doorway. It sat perched on the upper level of the lawn overlooking the forest and mountains along the distant horizon. Their adorable black lab participated in the ceremony, and did such a great job!

Navy Blue and Purple Details

Their colors were navy and purple which was a unique combo that I loved! Half of the bridesmaids wore purple dresses, and the other half wore navy. Likewise, half the groomsmen wore purple vests, and half wore navy. Standing all together created an ombre effect of sorts!

There were purple balloons galore, navy linens, and the cutest ivory paper flowers for the centerpieces. The cake was a combo of 3 separated tiers in various sizes and had beautiful purple florals! The bride’s bouquet incorporated blue hydrangeas. I was especially impressed with the mother of the bride’s outfit. It had a perfect blend of the 2 colors in one print, and even her hair had some purple in it! Such great attention to details!
