This greenhouse wedding at Blockhouse was full of laughter, beautiful details, and one very unexpected guest. I met the couple at The Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland to start the day. They were staying there for the wedding, and it gave us the perfect spot for their first look. We wandered in and around the hotel for portraits with some of their friends and family. Then it was time to head across the river to Blockhouse and Orangerie Pomarius for the wedding.

I have photographed weddings at Blockhouse before, and I always love coming back. There are so many great little spaces packed into one venue.
For this ceremony, the greenhouse looked especially beautiful. Flower Gold Florals created a gorgeous floral arbor against all of the lush green plants. The combination of the flowers, glass, and greenery made such a pretty backdrop without needing much else.
The whole day also had such a genuinely happy energy.
These two laughed constantly, but so did everyone around them. I kept noticing couples throughout the evening hugging, cuddling, and being lovey-dovey with each other. Those little unscripted moments are always some of my favorites to photograph.

After the ceremony, the couple had a pretty great surprise planned for their guests.
As the couple joined everyone for cocktail hour, they escorted Caesar the No Drama Llama into the crowd!
Watching people realize there was suddenly a llama at the wedding was hilarious. Caesar was incredibly photogenic too, with possibly the most beautiful hair at the entire wedding. He happily posed for photos and made his way around the party while everyone loved on him. The florist even made him a beautiful lei to wear!
It was such a fun addition to the day and definitely something their guests won’t forget.

The celebration continued with dinner from Pearl Catering, who did such a great job throughout the evening. Everything ran smoothly, and the food was delicious.
Sir Kenneth DJ kept the party going, while Banquette handled dessert. Instead of having a cake, the couple opted for a croquembouche! It was so pretty, and so fun when they each took a piece off to feed each other instead of the traditional cake cutting. They had all their friends gather around and cheer and wave tinsel wands while it happened! Diva Matters Ministry officiated the ceremony, and Christina with Coordinated By Christina kept everything moving throughout the day. She was so attentive, detailed, and easy to work with, and I really hope we get to work together again!
Most of all, I loved getting to spend this day with these two.
I’ve gotten to know them over the last year, and they have been such a joy to work with from beginning to end. Their wedding felt like such a reflection of them: warm, fun, relaxed, and surrounded by people who were genuinely thrilled to celebrate with them.
I’m so glad I got to be there to document it all.

It was such a pleasure being a part of this wedding and celebration! It came together beautifully and had so many sweet touches. During the last song of the evening as we were starting to pack up, I got to watch Cindy and Jess’s family and friends dancing around them in a circle, it melted my heart!
