Earlier this month I photographed the sweetest Airbnb elopement at the Oregon Coast for two of my good friends. They chose one of my favorite beach towns to tie the knot in, and they were lucky with sunny skies!

Even though they had never visited the small town of Oceanside, Oregon before, they knew they wanted a coastal background. They also enjoy weekend getaways to new places. As opposed to a ceremony on the beach proper, they envisioned something more private. So, they found the perfect little house with a balcony on Airbnb and booked it!

It was a family affair for us, with Brandon as a groomsman and our dog Tenakee as a ring bearer. Their other good friend was the officiant, and his partner came along as his plus-one. She was super helpful as my lighting assistant during the ceremony, as you’ll see in a pic below! She also helped take a few of the group photos so I could be in some! It was a very intimate affair with just the six of us all weekend. They only saw photos until the day of, but the house was even more beautiful and perfect in real life. There were sweeping views of the ocean and town below from almost every room.

They knew they wanted something low-key, without much fuss, and a weekend to celebrate. Therefore, they decided the best plan of action was to perform the ceremony on the day of arrival! The bride got her hair done that morning in Portland. She made the bouquets and boutonnieres herself the night before. The two of them ran a few errands to pick up food and drinks and desserts, and then drove to the coast.

We all arrived and checked in to the Airbnb around 4:30pm. Everyone got dressed and ready, ate some snacks, and then the ceremony happened right around 7pm on the deck. Afterward, the newlyweds had a first dance on the deck, and then everyone came inside for Champagne and cake. Then we all headed down to the beach for golden hour portraits by the water. After sunset, the couple set up food they brought from Por Que No, and made mango margaritas. Later, the bride taught the groom some traditional Romanian wedding dances with the help of YouTube and then we partied until sleep hit.

Since the wedding activities were all done on the first day, we were all able to relax and celebrate for the rest of the weekend, which I think was a perfect plan!
