Although this was my first time photographing at this venue, I have to say I think it was the best wedding at The Troutdale House there could have been! I loved everything about this wedding venue! Not only that, I loved everything about this couple! The bride’s sister was actually my office intern a couple of years ago. I felt so honored and special when they reached out to me about photographing their wedding. It’s so awesome when connections bring even more connections like these.
While this wedding was originally scheduled for 2020, they decided to postpone it because of the pandemic. I think the wait paid off. This was the first wedding I’ve photographed since being fully vaccinated, and I have to say, it felt like things were almost completely back to normal! There was a full house, and aside from a sanitizing station, some catering rules, and not being able to grab your own cupcakes off the table, you could barely tell this wedding from one in 2019.
Best Wedding at The Troutdale House
Why was this the best wedding at The Troutdale House? Well, let me count the ways.
- The bridal suite was a soft romantic dreamy space. It was huge, with curtains upon curtains and mirrors upon mirrors. It was like grandma’s attic turned into a little girl’s dress-up play-space-of-her-dreams.
- The groom’s suite was a cool multi-room space with diner and route 66 decor, a pool table and foosball, a moody red room with flocked wallpaper, a brick wall room, and more. So many spots for a variety of backdrops!
- The outdoor ceremony courtyard was spacious and had great pockets of sunshine filtering through the greenery overhang.
- They have another option for an outdoor ceremony/reception space as well! While it wasn’t used for anything specific for this wedding, it made a great location for all the portraits. We used the area for the first look, wedding party, and family photos.
- The main indoor area was used for the reception dinner and toasts. Just an overall great space with sparkly chandeliers, lots of mirrors, a pretty wood bar, uplighting, and hanging beaded curtains around the dessert area. Basically, just lots of details to really give depth to the photos!
- Finally, there’s another outdoor deck area in the back of the venue! The couple used this space for their first dances as well as the party! It has a stone fireplace that gave a cozy ambiance and looked romantic for the first dances. I loved having so much variety and moving from space to space to keep things fresh and new.

What a wonderful wedding for a wonderful couple. The photos are beautiful. I think my favorite is a close up of the bride and grooms hands during the ceremony. Or maybe when the guys were praying over the groom.
Thank you! I love those two shots too 🙂

Curious as to where the photos of more the family are. I don’t see many photos of the bride and groom parents, especially the grooms side? Will there be more photos uploaded?
Hi! This was just a quick grab of some of my favorites! I have over 1000 more to finish editing 🙂 When they are finished they will be posted here – https://crystalgenesphotography.pixieset.com/racheljosh/
Beautiful pictures of the Bride and Groom. But I’m disappointed at the fact that there are hardly any photos of the grooms parents.
