This Cannon Beach Wedding at Surfsand Resort was the sweetest! Who would have expected an 80-degree weekend with bluebird skies, in October? It was just the prettiest day, with amazing wedding details. Not only was purple the palette for the day (my favorite color, if you didn’t know), but some of the best vendors around were part of this team!

There’s just something about the Oregon Coast, even on the sunniest of days, that feels more romantic than other coasts. There’s a slower pace, a crispness to the air, and random animals running about like in a Disney movie. It’s a great place to get married! This couple actually came all the way from the East Coast to get married here with their closest friends and family. Surfsand Resort is right on the water and makes it so easy!

I started the day bouncing back and forth between the bride & groom’s getting ready suites. Once they were ready, we found a quiet little pathway to the beach for their first look with each other. Then we ran around on the beach for a bit before heading to Ecola State Park for more portraits. We found the cutest spot in the woods at Ecola, with lush green grass and mossy trees. I could have photographed them there for a few hours! But we had to head back to the venue to start the ceremony.

I loved all the purple flowers that my favorite florist – Flowers by Alana – designed for the wedding. The driftwood wedding arch was so pretty, as well as all the flowers that lined the aisle. The guests looked out at the couple but could also get a great view of Haystack Rock in the distance.

A Ballroom Reception with a View

After the ceremony, everyone headed to the ballroom at Surfsand for the party! You could still see the ocean and Haystack Rock from the ballroom windows. It was especially pretty as the sun was setting! In between dancing, there was toasts and cake cutting, and they even had fun with the shoe game. And when you have shoes as hot as the bride’s (check out those purple studded Louboutins in the pics!), why wouldn’t you play a game where you get to show them off?!
