Before I get started on how lovely this Caswell Sculpture Garden wedding was, let me clarify that this was actually a vow renewal. Whaaaat?! I know, right?! In fact, the couple have been together for 20 years. Whaaaat?! I know, right?! Are they even old enough for that to be true?! Haha. They eloped in Vegas many moons and two kids ago, but always dreamed of one day having a proper wedding celebration, complete with a pouffy princess dress. And, that they finally did!

This was the first time I’ve worked at Caswell Sculpture Garden. Well, unless you count the week before when I did an engagement style photo shoot for the couple there! And, it is such a romantic and beautiful venue. Truly a hidden gem in Troutdale, which is just a short drive from the Portland area.

The property is owned by a bronze sculptor, and his detailed work (mostly depicting wildlife and free spirited children) is scattered throughout the garden. There is a large pond with a rowboat, that is framed by a beautiful circular stone archway, and is the perfect choice for a ceremony backdrop. In fact, the pond is home to plenty of living wildlife as well! I saw ducks and heron, and even an otter was swimming around.

A Garden Wedding Venue With It All

Seriously, this venue has it all. Not only do they have beautiful grounds and a great ceremony backdrop, but they’ve thought out all the other essential details as well. There is a very nice getting ready suite for both the guys and the gals. The bridal suite even has a row of individual hair and makeup vanities to accommodate several bridesmaids at once! In addition, there is a large tent on the premises for the reception, or as a rain plan, and there is even a separate covered bar area. It’s just perfect!
