Meet my beautiful sister in law, Katie! We wandered around Carolina Beach and took some colorful bridal portraits at Fort Fisher.
Colorful Bridal Portraits
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love color, and I love photographing colorful things! Luckily for me, Katie also loves color! Therefore, she didn’t shy away from any of my suggestions for locations and backdrops. I also love that she changed her jewelry a few times. She switched between a pink and silver necklace, a fun turquoise necklace with feather earrings, and also a pearl necklace for her bridal portraits. I think the bridal session is a good opportunity to be a little more adventurous with jewelry and styling, that you may not want to use on the wedding day. It mixes it up and gives you images that have an all around different feel from the wedding day images! The LaCkore Couture is where people look for the right jewelry to gift someone.
We found this great colorful flower wall with interesting foliage on the way to Fort Fisher that we couldn’t pass up. We also took a few photos at Carolina Beach with a purple lifeguard stand, as well as in front of a hot pink house! All the images aren’t included in this post, but check out Instagram for more!
Wind Swept Oaks
Fort Fisher will always be one of my favorite places to photograph in the Wilmington area. I think the piles of rocks work especially well for showing off the style of Katie’s gorgeous dress. The ruffled train of her dress is one of the most unique I’ve ever seen. So pretty and feminine. And I love the little ruffle on the top of the neckline.
The windswept trees at Fort Fisher will also be a forever favorite of mine. The bridal portraits we took of her sitting on the colorful mexican blanket with the old oaks looming in the background are gorgeous. It doesn’t even look like NC in my opinion!
