This fun and colorful wedding at Firehouse Restaurant in Portland was amazing! Mushrooms, mash, cootie catchers, and rainbow wigs were just a few of the off-beat details that made it extra special. You may remember when Flowers By Alana, Sugarhouse Cake, and myself teamed up back at the beginning of the pandemic to offer a wedding giveaway to one colorful couple? Well, here they are! These two sweethearts definitely delivered in the fun and colorful department.
Colorful Wedding at Firehouse Restaurant
This was such a cute venue, located right in the middle of Woodlawn. It is a historic firehouse, turned restaurant. Not only is it a great little venue, but they also served some of the best food I have ever had. And I love food! The bride and groom felt like they had made enough decisions pertaining to the day, so they left the entire catering menu up to the venue, and boy did they not disappoint! Octopus skewers, bruschetta toast, mushrooms with ribeye, fresh corn polenta, coppa pizzette, charred peaches and cream, and that’s just a few of the menu items they served!
Anyway, enough about the food. The bride got ready upstairs in the venue. While they offer the upstairs space as an option for hosting your party, they also have outdoor space which was great to keep everything on one level with a nice flow. The bride handmade all the table decor, including the crocheted mushrooms and plant sculpture centerpieces. The couple loves costumes and hosting parties. So they used their collection of wigs as colorful decoration and as a party prop. The bride handmade all the mannequin heads that displayed the wigs. There were tons of other mushroom details scattered throughout as well. Including on the cake and in the bride’s flower crown (also made by Flowers by Alana!).
The couple and a handful of their friends created a special “motorcycle gang” name for themselves, called the Fire Machetes. They all have vests that they have decorated and adorned with puffy paint, patches and, pins. During the reception, they all shared a dance together wearing their vests before the party kicked off.
