This sweet elopement at Lodge 902 in Hood River was a fantastic kick-off to my 2021 wedding season! I had never worked at this location before, but Lodge 902 is a new favorite!
Elopement at Lodge 902 in Hood River
Like many engaged couples these days, these two had plans for a big 2020 wedding. Originally planned for Puerto Rico, after many changes of plans, they finally settled upon an intimate micro wedding in Hood River. Many of their family and friends live in Puerto Rico and Spain, among other distant national and international locations. While the majority couldn’t attend in person, they were all in attendance on Zoom! They even had some guests tuned in from Africa! That’s a beautiful thing about zoom weddings. I love seeing the couple’s reactions when they see just how many people have tuned in to watch their ceremony. And from how many crazy locations! I think even after the pandemic is over, zoom broadcasting should be a new standard wedding day practice.
Let’s talk about this cute lodge. Lodge 902 is actually an Airbnb, but it is one of the most perfect ones I’ve ever seen for an elopement. It has everything. The layout and flow were perfect. With three floors, there was space for the ceremony, a bar area, the dinner, groom quarters, bride quarters, and rooms for all the guests! It even has a little closet that has been turned into a photo booth area! It has a pretty view of the river, a nice balcony, and the decor is fun and colorful. It’s also just a few minute’s drive to the river, which made it easy to grab a few scenic portraits with the couple without being away for long. We were so lucky and the sun came out basically just for our river portraits. By the time we got back to the house, it was cloudy again.
A Dream Team at Lodge 902
Even though this was a micro wedding, that doesn’t mean a planner isn’t needed! Having a wedding planner or coordinator for any size wedding will 100% make for a better day every single time. Nicole Issler Events was in charge of this fantastic day. Every detail was taken care of so that the bride and groom and their friends and family could completely relax and enjoy the day. She also brought on a couple of my other favorite wedding creatives! Copper Blossom Design did the gorgeous floral work, Simply Sweets by Jen made the adorable cake, and Updo Come True worked her hair magic on the bride and party. I worked with each of these ladies last year for this NYE shoot, and was so excited to work with them again! Scroll down to the bottom to see the full vendor list from this day.
So beautiful!
As the mother of the bride, I wanted time to stop and be able to capture every moment, every feeling. You did that for us.
Thank you.
You’re very welcome, so happy to hear this!
Beautiful memories captured and a great eye behind the lens! Thank you for your thoughtful gaze!
