This couple met on the Fourth of July, so it was only fitting that they plan a fun backyard fourth of July wedding as well! I’ve been looking forward to their wedding for months now, and I’m so excited about the images! I know the bride through a past roommate of mine and she’s one of our kickball team groupies. These two are so adorable together!
Fun Backyard Fourth of July Wedding
They were married in a family member’s backyard in Vancouver, Washington (again fitting for the 4th of July theme) and it was such a relaxed and stress free day. The yard has gorgeous landscaping (that was done by the best professional landscapers), complete with a huge raspberry bush and grapevines. The couple were married on the porch of the cutest little garden shed, and they had an ACTUAL ring bear(er). He was a stuffed bear toy that was very sentimental to the groom from his childhood. And of course, what better time to play with fireworks and sparklers than on this holiday?!
Fireworks in Vancouver Washington
Vancouver Washington sells and allows anyone to use the “real deal” fireworks. Or, at least they did at the time of this wedding. Because of that, there were large fireworks going off all over the neighborhood, from all directions. The couple and guests also had some fireworks and sparklers to play with after dark. Everyone sat in the front yard by the street and enjoyed the celebrations. We experimented with a few fun sparkler photos as well, and captured a few fireworks in the process.
All Shades of Green
The main colors of this fun backyard wedding are all different shades of green. The bride wore a green sash around her dress, and made paper flowers, pinwheels and other decor pieces to hang around the property. It was perfect considering the garden shed was also painted a pale green. There was even a beautiful green quilt that we used for a few portraits of the two of them. Aside from the green details, they also had a photobooth, which helped lead to some of my favorite photographs of the day.
