Check out these fun family photos along the Columbia River in Washougal Washington! Isn’t this family model-esque?
Oh how I love this sweet family! I photographed Alice & Mike’s wedding shortly after moving to Portland many years ago. It’s been wonderful getting to continue working with them throughout the years. They also run Camas Life Magazine, which I have photographed for. Because of that, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful families in the Camas Washington area.
These two are expecting another little one in a couple of months. We’re already planning for the newborn photos!
Cottonwood Beach is a Great Location
But, back to this session. I love family photos along the Columbia River! Cottonwood Beach in Washougal is a great location, especially in Spring and Fall. In the Summer it can get ridiculously busy, which makes it difficult to avoid having people in the background of photos!
Baby Ella just wanted to play in the water. Mom and dad finally let her splash around at the end of the session. I love her bright blue eyes against the yellow raincoat!
We started the session by walking along the path at Captain Cook Park. The colors in their outfits are pretty against the green trees and blue sky. Afterwards, we walked down to the beach.
Fun Family Photos Along The Columbia River
We did the majority of their family photos along the Columbia River. It was around sunset, and the overcast sky and gray sand created a softness. We took some family photos, and some photos with just mom and baby and dad and baby. We couldn’t let Ella run around on the beach by herself because she headed straight for the water!
As we were leaving the beach, Ella was upset to leave the water. Before we ended the session, however, we took a few more of them lounging in the grass, and let Ella run around by herself!
