Wondering if you should get married in West Linn? This past weekend I had the chance to shoot another wedding at one of my favorite venues, Weddings On The Hill. It’s located in West Linn, which is just a bit south of Portland, and directly south of Lake Oswego. It is such a cute little location, and the team there makes everything super easy! It’s so important to have a good team representing your venue, and this one truly cares to make the day all about you. They are very attentive, and they will even hold an umbrella to shade you while you eat dinner (until Grandpa comes along and insists on taking over)!
Get Married in West Linn
This weekend was a super hot one! But the bride and groom managed to look flawless throughout the entire day. Can we talk about how gorgeous the bride is?! Her hair and makeup, and even her airbrush tan, was perfect… thanks to Sarahi, owner of Pure Elegance Artistry. She’s like, the best around! I started the day with the bride and her mom and sister in the bridal suite. We snapped a few shots of her dress and details, and then they helped button her up. I headed down to the basement where the groom’s aunt was helping him put on his tie and jacket. She studied up on how to tie a tie, just for this special moment! It was so sweet.
Once they were both dressed and ready, we went outside for their first look in front of the venue. Both the inside and outside of the venue are picturesque. We wandered around the grounds for some more portraits of the two of them, and then we met the family in front of the house for formal group portraits.
The Ceremony & Reception
The ceremony was outdoors in the garden. Guests were seated at their tables to watch. They all had pretty white umbrellas to help keep some shade from the bright sunshine. I loved this detail! Not only does it help keep the sun and heat away, but the white umbrellas make for great mid-day portraits since it’s basically a giant softbox over their heads!
After dinner, there were toasts, the couple cut the cake, and then had their first dance. Of course, there were parent dances, and then the dance floor opened up to everyone! Finally, we grabbed a couple more portraits of the couple on the balcony. I just can’t get over how pretty all their portraits are! For their grand exit, the guests blew bubbles. I love bubble exits when it’s still daylight outside. The sunlight can really make the bubbles pretty and colorful! If you get married in West Linn, especially if you get married at Weddings on the Hill, invite me to join you!
