This groovy disco wedding at Blockhouse Portland, and Pomarius Nursery was a perfect way to kick off my 2023 wedding season! Seriously, this wedding is basically what my wedding dreams are made of. You may recognize this couple from their mini-mony in Downtown Portland last April. Or their Indian Roce ceremony, also last April. This was their larger celebration that included many more family and friends now that the restrictions of the pandemic have eased.

I started the day at the couple’s home and photographed them helping each other get ready for the day. I love it when couples spend the whole day together from start to finish! Once they were ready, we all headed to Pomarius Nursery for the wedding fun!

Groovy Disco Wedding at Blockhouse Portland

The ceremony took place in the lush greenhouse of Pomarius Nursery, with colorful flowers and greenery as the backdrop. Bella Blooms Flowers made some absolutely stunning floral installations, full of all of my favorite vibrant colors! There were disco balls throughout the venue which added some fun sparkle. And their 70s-inspired signage was the perfect groovy detail. The couple exchanged vows under a canopy of string lights above, and disco balls below, which added a touch of glamour to the rustic setting.

After the ceremony, the party moved to Blockhouse, a stylish and modern chef-inspired kitchen and event space right outside the greenhouse doors. The couple had customized cocktails, and invited the wedding llamas to surprise their guests!

As a photographer, I loved capturing the energy and fun of the event. The candid moments were the best, with guests laughing, hugging, and having a great time.

Wedding Reception at Pomarius Nursery

Everyone moved back into the greenhouse once dinner was ready, where they dined by string lights and candlelight. It was very romantic.
