This indoor-outdoor wedding in Troutdale Oregon, was one of the most unique events I have photographed at The Troutdale House. The day blended heartfelt moments, playful details, and a reception that felt like a choose your own adventure.

Getting Ready and Personal Style

The couple brought so much personality into every part of their day. The bride wore a beautiful gown from Brides for a Cause with a long flowing veil. The groom wore a custom burgundy suit from Indochino with incredible details. He added a collar chain, button chains, and a special chain holding a bead made from his mother’s ashes.

His floral pocket square included a subtle Pokemon detail, which I loved. The bouquets by Daisi & Co were stunning, with soft purple pastels that elevated every space.

A Ceremony Full of Personality

The ceremony was heartfelt and full of surprises. The couple included a ring beerer instead of a ring bearer. One of their friends walked down the aisle with a beer holster and a basket of drinks. He handed them out with full theatrical flair, and guests loved every second.

There were also meaningful personal touches throughout the day. The welcome table included a baby announcement. The bride shared that she is expecting, with a sign saying the baby is as big as a pop tart. Guests enjoyed Pop-Tarts as a fun and sweet detail.

A Reception Beyond the Ballroom

This indoor-outdoor wedding in Troutdale Oregon, felt different from the usual reception flow. After dinner and formal dances, guests spread out across the entire venue. The ballroom was no longer the main focus.

The outdoor fireplace patio was full of guests mingling and visiting the photo booth. Downstairs, people gathered around the vintage games, laughing and playing together. Others relaxed in the speakeasy lounge or chatted in the groom’s suite. Out back, the couple created a cigar patio where guests gathered and talked.

The bride’s stepdad and family prepared and served the meal, including a whole pig. It added such a warm and communal feeling to the evening. At one point, the groom opened special Pokemon packs, which was a fun personal highlight.

This indoor-outdoor wedding in Troutdale, Oregon, was joyful, creative, and full of connection in every corner.
