This intimate ceremony at Weddings On The Hill in West Linn was so great! Like many other couples who were engaged to be married this year, these two had to make quite a few changes due to the pandemic. One of those changes was choosing an entirely new venue! This was my first time working at Weddings On The Hill and I loved it. It is such a pretty venue. It is well thought out, and has great landscaping. The venue managers and coordinators were very attentive and did a fantastic job keeping everything on track and stress-free.

Intimate Ceremony at Weddings On The Hill

I started the day in the gorgeous bridal suite. This was one of the best bridal suites I’ve ever been in. It was full of natural light, was very spacious, and had some unique features – like a walk-in closet with hot pink carpet, and a bathroom covered in pretty floral wallpaper. It was great! The bride’s mom and her bridesmaids helped her into her dress. Afterwards we headed downstairs for their first look.

We used a lovely room in the front of the house for their first look since it was so bright outside. The room was all windows on 3 sides, so provided great natural light. We also used this room for quite a few of the family and wedding party portraits!

After the first look and formal portraits, we had a bit of a break before the ceremony. It’s always so nice to plan portraits early so you have some time to relax before the ceremony. I headed down to the grooms quarters just as they were opening their groomsmen gifts. What’s better than fancy whiskey and cigars? Afterwards I went back upstairs to see what the girls were up to. One of the bridesmaids mentioned all the girls should try to fit into the large pink bathtub, so I encouraged it!

Finally it was time for the ceremony. The intimate ceremony was in the back yard. They have a lovely half-circle wooden backdrop draped with fabric. It was short and sweet. Next, everyone headed down the hill to the cocktail area while Weddings On The Hill flipped the ceremony space into a reception space. We took a few more portraits around the property and then the party began! Well, first there was dinner, toasts, desserts, and first dances. But after that, the party dancing started and it didn’t stop!
