This couple had an intimate wedding at Tanner Springs Park in NW Portland. Portland Park weddings are always so sweet and feel very personal. Tanner Springs is such a great location! It mixes nature with the city in a really fun way!
We started the day at The Fields Park. The Fields Park is just 2 blocks away from Tanner Springs. It’s a more open grassy area, with a bit more of an industrial feel. You can see the Fremont Bridge in the distance, as well as a fun old building with a huge water tower on top. It was a sunny day, but rain drops kept floating through the air!
The couple had a first look with each other and then we took some portraits around the area. Their family met up with us and we did some family portraits before it was time to head back to the ceremony spot.
Ceremony In The City
When we got back to Tanner Springs, all the guests were lounging on the natural grassy amphitheater style seats, looking out over the park. The couple were married along the walkway that is built over the Koi pond. I love the rusty sculpture style fence that lines the park above the walkway. It not only blocks traffic, but it’s such a cool feature. It even matched the couple’s wedding colors… yellow & rusty orange. Even the walkway incorporates some of the artistic feel of the park.
The couple wore their sunglasses during the ceremony. I think that was a first for me! Their friend officiated, and afterwards everyone headed a block away to get pizza and beer! The couple had donuts from VooDoo for all their guests. They also had a champagne toast. It was a perfect blend of casual and tradition! Many happy wishes to the newlyweds!
