I have photographed quite a few weddings at McMenamins Edgefield, and I always have a great time. This couple married outside Blackberry Hall. Evrim Icoz actually contracted me to photograph this wedding through his company. He is another local wedding photographer, and does really great work! Below are some of my favorite shots that I got from the day!
Married Outside Blackberry Hall
McMenamins is a great venue for weddings for several reasons. For instance, they have great landscaping and tons of nooks and private areas on their properties. There is a lot of variety for portrait backdrops, and it’s always so lush. The ivy covered walls are some of my favorite backdrops at Edgefield. There is also a fantastic garden next to the hall, which has a great red door. In addition, it’s simply a great location for guests to stay to experience the pacific northwest. There are so many activities on the grounds. In fact, they have pretty much everything. There is a winery, a vineyard, a brewery, several bars and restaurants, a game room, and even a spa and soaking pool. They even have a tea house and golf course!
I loved the colors of this wedding. Gray, yellow, pink, green and ivory were abundant in the theme. Very cheerful for a summertime wedding! The succulents in the bouquets and boutonnieres were some of the best I’ve seen. I always enjoy bridesmaids in black dresses, and these mismatched choices were really cute! Their ceremony chairs were arranged in a semi-circle around the arbor, which mirrored the yard nicely. And the tall evergreens provided a nice backdrop. So many happy tears were shed during the ceremony! As someone who wears glasses 99% of the time, I love that this bride chose to wear hers during the ceremony. So many brides opt for contacts, but I think glasses are cute and show personality!
