This Scholls Valley Lodge wedding could not have been more perfect! Â It was day 2 for me of photographing the festivities for this Indian wedding celebration weekend. Â I started the previous day with the Haldi and Sagai Ceremonies as well as the Sangeet. Â Be sure to check out the links to those blog posts down below!
Scholls Valley Lodge Wedding
I have always wanted to photograph a wedding at Scholls Valley Lodge, and so happy to finally have had that opportunity! Â It is such a beautiful venue, with gorgeous views for miles. Â You can even see Mt. Hood (although it was too hazy to get a clear photo, it was still amazing)! Â To top it off, I have always wanted to photograph an outdoor Indian wedding, so this was a match made in photography heaven! Â I had only talked with the bride on the telephone in the months before the wedding because she lives in South Carolina. Â Therefore, I didn’t get to meet the couple until a few days before the wedding. Â We met for a quick engagement session so I could get to know them better, and I’m so lucky to have the best clients… they are so much fun!
Rebecca at Indigo Event Design did an amazing job with the decor. Â She did a great job with the mandap, which was a vibrant orange. Of course this color looked fabulous against the bright blue sky! Â Although there were quite a few vendors involved in pulling off this event, many of the elements throughout the day were DIY. Â The couple definitely had a vision for their day and they created many of the details themselves. Â The bride even had the fabric for the mandap brought from India!
I love these photos. Such a beautiful place to have a wedding and so beautifully traditional. I’ve never been to an Indian wedding but I got to attend traditional African one in Liberia. An American wedding is so simple in comparison.
Great work on this! I love the way you captured the various emotions of the day and the traditional moments along with the fun. You did a great job capturing the beautiful colors and they couldn’t have chosen a better backdrop!
I can see why you were so excited to be at one of those weddings and take photos. The colors are so beautiful and vivid and they look like they are having a marvelous time.
