I had so much fun documenting this smoky summer wedding! These guys are just the sweetest couple, and so relaxed. Their main focus for not only their wedding day, but also for their images, was “fun”. They really wanted everyone to have a great time and to have a fun party… and it was!
Smoky Summer Wedding
It was such a beautiful day. Although the wildfires in the area caused the smoke to keep Mt. Hood hidden, it made for such a dreamy foggy atmosphere. I was also really stoked to be back at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort to shoot this wedding since it’s one of my favorite Mt Hood venues and not very far from Portland OR. They were married just down the street from the Inn, behind the lodge, and their reception party was in a big field/yard behind the Inn. There were yard games, and music, and basketball, and of course dancing!
Painted jars held flowers. Due to all the pops of yellow and blue, the day felt extra cheerful. In fact, the bride and groom skipped cheerfully down the aisle after the ceremony. The bridesmaids wore green dresses, and the groom and all the groomsmen wore blue bow ties. At sunset, the smoke caused the sky to turn bright orange which was really cool.
Cheerful Reception
This group knows how to party! There was so much dancing and everyone was so expressive. The groom and groomsmen surprised the bride by changing into matching lederhosen during the reception. They linked arms and skipped down the hill in the moonlight to the reception tent. Of course, that scene made everyone laugh. I love the photos of all the guys dancing crazy in their lederhosen. In conclusion, you really can’t go wrong with a wedding event at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort!
