I hadn’t known these two terribly long when they first booked me for their wedding, but they have since become some of my favorite people and best friends in Portland. I was so excited for their winter wonderland snowy Timberline Lodge wedding on Mt. Hood. (At least I had been hoping there would be snow… and there was! It was so pretty!)
They planned a superhero/comic/lego/CMYK themed wedding and we had all been looking forward to seeing how it would all come together.
Here were some of my favorite details :
The bride had her dress custom made by a fabulous designer in Seattle, WAI CHING. The CMYK colors were incorporated.
She wore earrings made out of clear lego doors.
They had a lego cake topper perched on a CMYK dotted cake.
The bridesmaids wore pinup style dresses with CMYK and superhero character colored petticoats.
The and and bridesmaids designed their own shoes and clutches by covering them with comic book clippings.
They wore flowers made from comic books in their hair. The bride carried a bouquet of flowers made from comic books. Comic book flowers were also scattered around the reception tables.
And all the girls had custom made superhero style masks to carry instead of bouquets.
The groomsmen wore ties in corresponding colors. They had cufflinks and tie clips to match with the superhero emblems.
The couple collected multi colored mugs and sandblasted superhero emblems on them for guest favors which turned out so great! They put Moonstruck hot cocoa packs in each mug. Appropriate for a snowy Timberline Lodge wedding.
Also, the bride is from Alaska and the groom is from Hawaii. They wanted to blend their two backgrounds into the day as well. The snowy location seemed to cover “Alaska” and the Hawaiian leis and ocean scene behind them during the ceremony covered “Hawaii”.
Congrats you two, much much love!
