Sunflower and Cheese Wedding
This particular celebration I’m calling the sunflower and cheese wedding! I think I photograph at the Troutdale House more than anywhere else, and it is always a joy to return. This one was full of personality, color, and an incredible amount of love. From start to finish, the day felt vibrant and personal, with every detail carefully thought out by the couple. And included lots of sunflowers and some fun cheese details.
Getting Ready Time
The day began upstairs in the airy bridal attic, where the bride and her wedding party were getting ready. The atmosphere was cheerful and bustling, with laughter carrying down the stairs. Meanwhile, the groom and his own group gathered in the basement suite. Both spaces were full of energy, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Sunflower and Cheese Wedding
The couple filled the venue with thoughtful and personal touches. Guests received creative favors like custom matchboxes, personalized playing cards, bubbles, and coins for vintage basement games. A framed paper sunflower served as their guestbook, tying in the bride’s favorite flower.
Sunflowers were everywhere, paired with pops of blue. The tables were named after different cheeses, which was a first for me and a detail guests loved. Downstairs, a memorial table honored the bride’s grandparents. Their beloved game of Sequence sat out with a photo and simple instructions, showing its importance to the family.
A Joyful Celebration From Start to Finish
After a sweet first look, we captured couples portraits and family photos. Post-ceremony, the wedding party piled into the venue’s vintage truck for more photos. The reception was full of laughter, dancing, and special moments. This included a recreation of an old family photo and a spirited round of the chicken dance.
It was the perfect mix of heartfelt traditions, quirky details, and pure joy.

These are SO GOOD! OMG! The photographer really did AMAZING at capturing so many joyous moments between you two! And some of those shots are absolute GOLD! What a great record of the two of you coming together! It’s so hard to pick a favorite, they’re so good! I’m so glad the photographer was able to capture some great candids of each of them looking happy where they couldn’t overthink posing for the photos! <3
