This bride and groom had a beautiful wedding at The Apple Barn in Valle Crucis, North Carolina. The Apple Barn is the cutest little red barn overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. They had a traditional ceremony at Church of the Holy Cross nearby. It is a beautiful stone church with a bright red door. In addition, there were fields of tall yellow flowers nearby, so we took lots of portraits walking through them.
The bride’s dress was so unique. Her mom actually helped redesign a dress they purchased at David’s Bridal, to create the bride’s vision. She is so talented! The groom gave the bride a letter to read before the ceremony. It was so sweet, the bride couldn’t keep the happy tears back. It even made a bridesmaid tear up.
Photographing A Wedding At The Apple Barn
I attended school very close to Valle Crucis, at Appalachian State University. I was familiar with the venue because of that, and had always wanted to photograph a wedding at The Apple Barn. It did not disappoint, and it’s always great to be back in the NC mountains.
The color scheme was pink and yellow, which was fun and cheerful. In fact, everyone I encountered at this wedding was fun and cheerful. Because of this, my day at work was such a delight. And they were all clearly very happy for this couple and their union.
I photographed their ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN DENVER, COLORADO the year before, which is where they live.
