I have been looking forward to this wedding at The Baker Building in Portland for so long! These two won the first wedding giveaway that I launched back in early 2020. After a couple of postponements, the big day finally happened, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! I was stoked to work at this unique venue, the Historic Baker Building. I actually live close by and have driven or walked past it nearly every day for 8 years without ever knowing it existed!

The building is at the corner of North Albina and Killingsworth Street. It was built by the Baker estate in 1912 and hosted lots of events until it closed in the 80s. It reopened in the last few years and is such a charming and cozy space. The space lent itself well to this fall wedding and the color palette that the couple chose for their big day. They had lots of burgundy, pink and ivory florals, all covered in eucalyptus. The couple wanted a classic look with a touch of vintage. They included gold and lace as accents and had a variety of vintage plates in their color scheme for the reception place settings.

Another great thing about this venue? It is just 3 blocks away from my favorite photo location in all of Portland, Peninsula Park Rose Garden. And it was lucky these two had a gorgeous sunny October day, while the roses are still in bloom. In another week or so, all the roses will be clipped for winter. We did all of the family and wedding party photos at the park and it was perfect. And speaking of the wedding party, check out the bridesmaid’s dresses… such a gorgeous fall color combo. I loved them so much!

Shannon, owner of Periwinkle Events did all the planning for the wedding. She’s so great to work with and made the day look amazing!

My favorite caterer, Mimi, owner of Signature Affair, was also there! Mimi is so attentive to detail, and not only makes delicious food, but makes it look great as well!
