I was back in West Linn for this legendary wedding at The Gathering Place, just a short drive from Portland. You might recognize this venue as one of my favorites, Weddings on the Hill. They recently rebranded as The Gathering Place. It remains the same beautiful venue as before, just with a new name!

Wedding at The Gathering Place

This couples ceremony was outside surrounded by the lush garden and trees showing a hint of fall color. It was a perfect late summer day in the pacific northwest. Additionally, the backdrop was adorned with twinkle lights, which always adds an enchanting touch of whimsy to a wedding. This couple incorporated swords into their walk back down the aisle, creating a fun and engaging way for some of their guests to participate in the ceremony.

The Gathering Place bridal suite bathroom has some fun floral wall paper and it is always one of my favorite backdrops for some stunning bridal portraits. After the couple were ready, I photographed their first look. They also read their personal vows to each other during this time, and the happy tears were flowing all around.

Details

In addition to the beautiful setting, the groom and officiant both showcased french braids in their hair. The groom also incorporated flowers into his hairstyle. While not every wedding includes the hairdresser styling both the bride and groom, this one was a delightful exception, and they did an amazing job.

The centerpieces were simple yet classic, featuring floating candles and loose florals. To top it all off, the couple provided Polaroid cameras for their guests to use. These always offer an excellent way for your guests to remember your special day! These were some of my favorite toast photos ever. I love it when guests are so emotive and full of expression. The dance floor was on fire, and I loved how the grandparents and other family members stayed engaged watching on the whole night, even if they weren’t dancing. You could really tell all day long that everyone at this event just truly adores this couple.
