I have been dreaming of photographing a wedding at Lavender Owl Farm in Canby, since they opened a few years ago. And that dream finally came true this past weekend!

Wedding at Lavender Owl Farm

Lavender Owl Farm is a gorgeous 20-acre farm in the heart of the Willamette Valley. They also happen to have a pretty awesome disc golf course, which is a favorite hobby of this groom. I started the day photographing the girls in the bridal suite, and the guys in the groom’s RV suite. Once everyone was ready, the bride and groom had a first look. Then I took photos of the couple around the property. The farm used to be a tree nursery, so there are cute patches of all sorts of trees all around. One of my favorites was the Japanese Maple “forest”. It made for the prettiest fall color! The property is also home to a giant metal monster, whose name I can not remember to save my life. He came from the set of Grimm, the TV show. So of course we took a few photos with him.

After some portraits of the wedding party and the family, it was time for the ceremony. They have the prettiest arbor for the ceremony area, and such lush green grass. It was a dreamy spot. As the bride and groom walked back down the aisle, they were greeted by one of the farm chickens. I loved all those little chickens!

Wedding Reception Chickens

I was definitely a little obsessed with taking photos of the free-range chickens that had no fear of people. They wandered into the reception hall, and one even had a fascination with the dessert table. He was my favorite. I was rooting for him to grab a cupcake, but he minded his manners.
