One of my favorite places for a wedding near Laurelhurst Park is at The Laurelhurst Club.  This was such a fun wedding and even included 3 different food trucks!

The Laurelhurst Club is right across the street from the park, very close to the picturesque duck pond.  It is a very cute space, with a great layout, a lush outdoor courtyard, and a quaint upstairs loft with a large bar area.  There’s even a traditional auditorium style stage with curtains.

This couple moved cross country from Florida, and wanted to share their love of Portland with their friends and family.  What better place than surrounded by towering old Douglas Firs and laurel in the middle of the city?

I started the day photographing the bride getting ready in the loft upstairs with her mom and maid of honor.  After some time photographing the groom getting ready with his dad and best man downstairs, it was time for their first look.  There was a very pretty spot along the sidewalk with great light and color.

The bride loves to collect stuffed animals, which the groom fully supports.  They decided to surprise each other with custom Build-A-Bears during their first look, which was so sweet!  Afterwards we heading into Laurelhurst Park for some more portraits of the two of them.  After a bit, their wedding party and family met up with us for formals.  

The couple hid away once we got back to the club, and shortly after a charter bus arrived to drop off a bunch of guests.  The ceremony happened in the outdoor courtyard, against a wall of ivy, greenery, towering trees, and lots of flowers.

Being from Florida, the couple wanted to bring in a beachy, sunset vibe to their decor.  They chose sunset colors in pinks, oranges, reds, and purples.  Tables were decorated with sea shells and ocean trinkets.  They even had a Photo Booth with a tropical sunset backdrop.  

After the ceremony, guests headed upstairs for cocktail hour and a trail mix bar!  Hand-painted seashells were used for guests to find their table.  And there were even small boxes with the couple’s photo and wedding date for guests to safely take their seashells home.

The reception kicked off with the couple’s first dance, followed by father daughter dance, and then the Hora!  After that, guests were instructed to head outdoors to get food from the food trucks.  They had Home Pl8 Sliders, and The MAC, both hits with all the guests!

Later there was more dancing, some heartfelt toasts, and then the cake cutting.  But, as an extra surprise for guests, the Voodoo Donuts truck also showed up for even more Portland yummies!
