These two had a wedding at THE WORLD FORESTRY CENTER in Portland’s Washington Park. They are both very laid back and their day was perfect and reflected their style. I loved the bride’s vintage style dress. Her hair and makeup was by the talented JEIN KING, and was so pretty! They married in Cheatham Hall, and their reception was outside on the plaza.
Wedding At The World Forestry Center
The World Forestry center is definitely a great location for a Portland wedding , since it’s right beside a MAX stop! The facility is located in Washington Park, which is packed with unique parks and recreational facilities to entertain your guests before the wedding. It includes a zoo, arboretum, children’s museum, rose garden, Japanese garden, memorial gardens, tennis courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, public art, acres of wild forest with miles of trails, and even an archery range. If your guests are unfamiliar with Portland, Washington Park is a good starting point for their visit.
The Wedding Details
This wedding had a woodsy theme, because this couple loves to hike. Their love of hiking is another reason they chose to have their wedding at the Forestry Center. The florals were very simple, but overflowed with greenery like ferns and moss. I loved the bride’s hair. It was a loose flowy fishtail to the side and adorned with pink roses. I also loved the moss covered and fern filled cones that hung from the back of the reception chairs. An adorable woodland raccoon couple adorned the top of the cake. Various woodland creatures were placed around the reception space. Other details incorporated the vintage style. There was a vintage typewriter, old scrabble tiles, antique books, and skeleton keys. The vintage typewriter doubled as a guest book. Guests were encouraged to write notes to the couple, using the typewriter.
