This winter wedding at The Aerie at Eagle Landing was proof that changes in timing sometimes works out better than planned. The couple originally planned an October celebration, but illness forced a difficult postponement. Rescheduling a wedding is always a tough call, but the vendor team all came together to help make it happen for this sweet couple.
They really had their hearts set on an outdoor ceremony. For October, that’s usually not a problem, but January is another story. As it turns out, their original October date brought lots of rain. Their January date, surprisingly, brought sunshine. It was cold, yes, but beautifully bright and clear. The Pacific Northwest truly showed off that day.
Getting Ready and a Thoughtful Timeline
I spent the entire day with the couple, starting with getting ready. Both spaces felt calm, excited, and intentional. Everyone stayed present and focused on enjoying the day. The bride looked absolutely radiant and beaming with joy.
Once they were ready, they shared a first look and spent time on portraits together. We followed those with family and wedding party photos.
Guests arrived via Eco Shuttle and enjoyed a short pre-ceremony cocktail at the tented bar area while we finished up portraits. The flow of the day felt relaxed, polished, and seamless thanks to Nicole Issler Events.
A Courtyard Ceremony and Golden Hour Portraits
The ceremony took place in the courtyard under clear winter skies. The setting felt elegant and peaceful. Burgundy and navy details added warmth against the crisp air. Wendy with Lush Floral Design did a beautiful job on all the flower arrangements.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we snuck away for golden hour portraits. The light was incredible and worth every chilly moment.
The reception followed with formal styling and thoughtful details throughout the space. Music by DJ Chaz Van Queen from John Ross Weddings kept the dance floor full all night.
Night Portraits and Sparkler Fun
Once darkness settled in, we headed back outside for nighttime portraits. The Aerie’s underground tunnel created a dramatic and iconic backdrop. We finished with sparkler photos that felt celebratory and joyful.
The night ended after hours of dancing, laughter, and connection. This winter wedding at The Aerie at Eagle Landing was absolutely worth the wait.
