Wow, was this wedding pretty! It was a perfect blend of laid-back rustic and classically romantic. The wedding at HORNING’S HIDEOUT was in North Plains OR (just 30 minutes or so from Portland). The venue, which is also a fishing area and campground, was truly a hideout! After driving for what felt like several miles down a narrow, tree-lined gravel road, it opened up to rolling hills, a couple of large ponds, and dozens of peacocks!
There are several different areas for events at the venue. These two chose the creekside lawn for their ceremony. It was perfect and they decorated everything so beautifully! I loved the mix of burlap and lace that they incorporated.
First we started off site for the bridal party getting ready. Additionally we did a few portraits of the bride and her bridesmaids. Then we all headed to the venue for the bride and groom’s first look. Near the ceremony spot was a pretty little waterfall area, with colorful flowers and nice light. It made a great backdrop for their first look.
After a few portraits of the couple and their wedding party, I documented all the details of the reception space. Then it was time for the ceremony! There was some great sunshine during the ceremony that looked magical.
Once the ceremony ended, we did family portraits and some more portraits of the bride and groom around the venue. The light at that hour was beautiful streaming through the forested areas, so we did lots of photos by the woods!
Then it was time for the reception, which was held under the pavilion. The burlap and lace backdrop behind the wedding party was perfect. I loved the twinkle lights underneath giving it just a little more depth for the photos. Their mismatched wine glasses and delicate floral and lace details were a perfect combo to balance out the rustic details.
