This is a list of my top 22 Most Unique Wedding Venues in Oregon and throughout surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for a small intimate venue on the beach or a larger location in the forest to fit the masses, you can find it on this list. These are locations that are not within the Portland Metro and surrounding areas. If you’re looking for my favorite venues in the Portland area, check out my 36 Most Unique Wedding Venues in Portland List instead.
No. 22 – Eminent Domaine Winery – Kicking off my list of 22 Most Unique Wedding Venues in Oregon, is this beautiful vineyard. Well, I guess I’ve never been to a vineyard or winery in Oregon that I didn’t find to be pretty, but Eminent Domaine is definitely one of my favorites. It has gorgeous views, ridiculous sunsets, a covered patio, and a great indoor space with a huge fireplace and nice natural light.
No. 21 – Cubanisimo Vineyards – I love finding new vineyards, and new (at least to me) wedding venues to photograph. This space was two in one! This is such a unique vineyard, with a gorgeous spanish style mansion, palm trees, and a breathtaking views over the vineyards. You can get married in the lawn overlooking the vineyards, or around the rustic tasting room and patio area.
No. 20 – Lodge 902 – I LOVE this space. It is primarily an indoor space, so it is perfect for a cozy indoor Winter or Fall wedding. It has lots of cute campy decor, fun colors and patterns, and some great natural light!
No. 19 – Loft at Red Building Astoria – Another great space for an intimate indoor Winter wedding, the Loft at Red Building sits along the water in Astoria. It is also right along the promenade, so there are tons of scenic locations for portraits as well!
No. 18 – Surfsand Resort Cannon Beach – Surfsand Resort has everything you need for a beach wedding. They sit oceanfront, and have a great view of Haystack Rock. You can bring in your own vendors, but they also have pretty much everything you can need in house, including catering, tables, chairs, and even some decor. Definitely a good option if you’re eloping to the Oregon Coast from another state!
No. 17 – Oceanside Community Club – This venue is located in one of my favorite towns on the Oregon Coast called Oceanside. This small town is tucked away off the beaten path, adding to its charm. The community club is a perfect venue for a more intimate wedding. You can get married on the patio overlooking the ocean, or get your feet sandy on the beach. There is also an option to have the reception indoors as well.
No. 16 – Ecola State Park – If you have always dreamed of a wedding at the Oregon Coast, this is s great venue to check out! If you are planning a smaller wedding of 50 people or less, Ecola State Park is the perfect place for stunning views! There are several lookout spots that all are great options to hold the ceremony, and a reservable picnic shelter. If the weather is nice, head down the hill to the beach for a lovely reception or dinner.
No. 15 – Haystack Gardens – Another great beach venue, Haystack Gardens is located in Cannon Beach, Oregon. This cute retreat is located just a block from the beachfront and is part of the Surfsand Weddings Team. They have a beautiful indoor space as well as a large enclosed garden area. If you are not afraid of some sand and wind, you can even get married on the beach overlooking Haystack Rock.
No. 14 – Tin Roof Barn – This rustic venue is located in White Salmon, Washington. The Tin Roof Barn is nestled along the beautiful orchards of the Columbia River Gorge. There is an outdoor pavilion to hold your ceremony or have it inside the grand wooden barn. It includes a bride and groom suite and a beautiful patio overlooking the orchards and forest.
No. 13 – Willamette Valley Vineyards – This vineyard is just a short drive south of Portland off of I-5. Like most vineyards, this one is perched atop a hill and overlooks the other vineyards nearby. The venue offers plenty of neat spots to hold the ceremony and reception, both inside and outside. There is also a modern suite for both the bride and groom parties.
No. 12 – Tipi Village Retreat – This venue is super fun and located just outside of Eugene, Oregon, in the Mohawk Valley. Just like the name, there are several tipis on the property that you and the guests can rent, as well as space for camping. The main house has a private suite and a separate cabin which makes a perfect getting ready area for the wedding party or couple. There is a lovely little creek along side the cabin that is perfect for wading in the summer, and a hot tub for the colder nights.
No. 11 – Laurel Ridge Winery – This winery is a hot spot located in Carlton, Oregon. The venue offers both indoor or outdoor options for your wedding. There is also a large beautiful garden that overlooks the farm, an indoor tasting room, and even a covered outdoor patio for up to 75 guests.
No. 10 – Deepwood Estate & Museum – This beautiful property is located in the center of Salem, Oregon, and full of really interesting history. Most of the gardens here were designed by the first female-owned landscape firm from the Northwest. The gardens are designed to feel like separate ‘rooms’, so each area has a unique feel. Not one spot is the same, but all equally lovely, you can design your day to incorporate each of them into your activities!
No. 9 – Cooper Spur Mountain Resort – I never get tired of photographing at Cooper Spur! This venue offers the option to rent out both the resort and/or the main lodge house across the street so that the entire guest list can hang out for the whole weekend! There is plenty of space to have the ceremony behind the lodge house with killer views of Mount Hood’s peak. There is also a large yard behind the resort. If rain or snow is in the forecast, there is also an indoor space.
No. 8 – Crag Rat Hut – The Crag Rat Hut boasts tons of history being America’s oldest Search and Rescue organization. This cool spot has views upon views! It also has an awesome lodge with a huge patio that overlooks Mount Hood that can be used for the wedding. The proceeds from using the lodge go to fund the organization’s mission, which I think is great! It also has two spaces inside with large windows overlooking the mountain.
No. 7 – Youngberg Hill – On top of a hill sits this vineyard in McMinnville, Oregon. Youngberg Hill is located in one of Oregon’s prime wine growing areas, so it is surrounded by beautiful views of the near by vineyards. The venue provides both indoor and outdoor areas to accommodate up to 350 guests, and even the option to rent rooms for the party at the Inn. My favorite feature of this property is the amazing old oak tree with a swing that overlooks the vineyard.
No. 6 – Domaine de Broglie Vineyard – This is definitely one of my top favorite wine country wedding locations! Previously called Vista Hills, the Francis Coppola family recently purchased this property located in Dundee, Oregon. This venue is perched atop the Dundee Hills, surrounded by breathtaking views in all directions. Nestled among a grove of old oak trees sits the outdoor ceremony spot, cooled by the shade provided by said oaks.
No. 5 – Loloma Lodge – This venue is truly magical and unique! Located along the McKenzie River in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon, Loloma Lodge offers an inspiring and rustic atmosphere. There are cabins and a lodge to stay in overnight or camping areas for you and your guests. The cabins are super cute, decorated with hip decor and the property is vast so you are able to spread out your activities throughout to allow your guests plenty of space to mingle.
No. 4 – Timberline Lodge – If you are looking for a rustic wedding, look no further than Timberline Lodge! The lodge’s history is quite inspiring and I love the fact that the exterior was used in one of my favorite horror movies, The Shining! With it being the mountain and usually full of snow, the landscape never seems to look the same in any two months, which makes it a fun and versatile place to photograph again and again. This venue offers the option to get married indoors or outdoors, or utilize both spaces.
No. 3 – Latourell Falls – I have photographed quite a few waterfall elopements around Portland over the years and I must say, Latourell Falls is one of my personal favorites so far ( I still have yet to visit a few other popular ones, so this could change)! This is one powerful waterfall, so be prepared for misty air and lots of wind! I love how these natural conditions add to the photos and make everything seem wild and free, like nature! If you are brave enough and don’t mind getting soaked, walk down along the hillside for some epic photos right next to the falls!
No. 2 – Wind Mountain Ranch – Wind Mountain Ranch is located along the Columbia River Gorge, in Stevenson, Washington. This venue offers outrageous views and has a few guesthouses and cabins on the property to rent for your wedding party and/or guests. There are several great spots you could choose to have your ceremony at and they even have a year-round tent that offers great protection in the case of wind and rain.
No. 1 – Lost Lake Resort & Campground – I just love Lost Lake! I have photographed both small and huge wedding celebrations at this location. Topping my list of 17 Most Unique Wedding Venues in Oregon, This venue has cabins, yurts, a lodge, and plenty of camping space, so you can make a whole week or weekend out of your wedding! There are plenty of different spots where you could have the ceremony and reception. You can even rent paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, or fishing poles, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Hood out on the lake!
