This Portland indoor winter micro wedding was so romantic and sweet. I met these two just a month or so ago during one of my seasonal mini sessions and was thrilled they asked me to be a part of their intimate wedding day. It’s always special being a part of someone’s special day, but even more so this year since gatherings are forced to be much smaller.
Portland Indoor Winter Micro Wedding
This wedding included the couple plus 8 of their closest family and friends. It was held in the groom’s parents home, which overlooks the river. It turned out to be a pretty rainy day, so we only grabbed a handful of quick photos outside, under the shelter of the barn. Can you believe a deer showed up in their horse pasture one day and decided to become a pet? He was so cute! Since this wedding was just a week before Christmas, everything was decorated for the holidays. The bride had dozens of candles lit around the fireplace which made the mood extra romantic.
On a side note, if you’re going to have dozens of candles, be extra careful around them! Especially if you’ve just had your hair hairsprayed! A portion of the bride’s hair actually went up in flames when she leaned over one. Luckily her friend was literally right there and had put it out before anyone else even noticed! And luckily it didn’t do much damage… a few pieces pinned back and you’d never even know it.
A Bride’s Best Friend
One of my favorite parts about this day was the bride’s dog, Patch. Patch followed her around like a perfect Maid of Honor should. He was there to help her get into her dress and her shoes, and made sure she had everything she needed. He kept her company outside during the first look, wore his wedding attire without complaint, and sat at the couple’s feet during the ceremony.
Anyway, I’ll quit writing and let the photos do the rest of the talking! Be sure to leave the couple a comment here at the bottom of this post to help them win some free prints!
