Wow, talk about a gorgeous location, this wedding at Eminent Domaine Winery was one for the books! I can’t stop thinking about how perfect everything was.
Wedding at Eminent Domaine Winery
I was so excited when these two reached out for me to shoot their wedding. As much as I love to spend a day tasting wine in Oregon wine country, I love photographing weddings there just as much! The Willamette Valley is always gorgeous. But, pair that up with golden hour lighting, and you have a magical recipe. And these two had their entire event planned around those magic golden hours. Truly, I think that is any wedding photographer’s dream! While this year has been iffy when it comes to raining at all the wrong times, we had a perfect blue sky day. Also, there were no heat waves and no Summertime wildfires… so all around the most perfect July wedding day you could ask for.
I feel like I’ve visited more wineries than your average Portland resident, and I aim to one day check them all off my list, but this one in Ribbon Ridge I had not yet gotten around to. However, it’s definitely on the top of my list to go back to the first chance I get. I love a winery with a great view, a cool tasting room with outdoor seating, yummy wines, friendly staff, and a laid-back feel. This one had all of those and more! They even had some merch in all of my very favorite colors (purple, purple, and magenta)… I mean come on! Plus… they have some fluffy friendly fur babies running around.
Oregon Wine Country Wedding
I started the day with the bride getting ready in the loft above the tasting room. Anytime a venue has a getting-ready area for the bride that is full of natural light, I’m in love. And this one had basically floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides of the room. So, of course, it was perfection. After the bride had a first look with her father, I took some portraits of the groom getting freshened up.
Since these two were planning a simple and intimate wedding with only a handful of guests, they opted against a first look. Which meant after they were dressed and ready, it was time for the ceremony! The bride used to work at this venue, and they are friends with the staff and owners. In fact, the tasting room manager was their wedding ceremony officiant!
After the ceremony, we took some portraits around the vineyard, and then they had a gorgeous dinner while watching the sunset. The light was so buttery and perfect, that I would have photographed dinner alone for another couple of hours if I could have.
