Two blog posts in one day?! That’s just what happens when I have 2 weddings back to back in the same weekend. I had such a great time spending the day photographing this Greek Orthodox wedding in Beaverton. This couple is just the sweetest, and their love story gives chills. To summarize, they met on the East Coast, and then both of their families ended up in the Portland area.
Greek Orthodox Wedding in Beaverton
This was actually the first Greek Orthodox wedding that I’ve photographed in like 15 years! The last was back in Charlotte, NC. I love getting to be a part of and capture different traditions and religious ceremonies. The bride’s dad is actually a priest. He performed the ceremony, which made it even more special.
We started the day at the bride’s grandmother’s house, where she and all the bridesmaids got ready. Lots of friends and family were there, and the energy was warm and lighthearted. Right after she got into her wedding dress, she turned around and everyone was peeking around the corner. Such a sweet and emotional moment!
First Look & Wedding Portraits at Jenkins Estate
Afterwards, we headed over to Jenkins Estate for the bride & groom’s first look. We also photographed all the wedding party portraits there. It was a great meeting point for these portraits since the couple wanted something full of nature. Their first look was next to the pond and bridge. Such a pretty little spot, even in the middle of winter!
Finally, we headed to Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Beaverton for the rest of the wedding festivities!
