This Haystack Gardens Wedding in Cannon Beach was so romantic. These two were married on the beach, overlooking Haystack Rock. You know, the famous one from the Goonies movie (which I’ve never seen btw). It’s always a fun change of pace shooting a wedding on the beach, with the open skies and no trees around! I’m so used to shooting in fairly forested areas. It’s so different to have a completely open space! But I love it!
I loved their DIY arbor. The torn fabric ribbons were so pretty and added just the perfect amount of color to the background. We all know I love colorful weddings! The colors also blended well with the overcast skies. I think, probably better with overcast skies vs if it had been sunny blue skies! It was so perfect, I just can’t even imagine it any other way! They included their children in the ceremony and it was so sweet. I loved the girls little ruffle dresses. So. Freakin. Adorable.
RECEPTION AT HAYSTACK GARDENS
They had their reception at Haystack Gardens of the Surfsand Resort. It was just the cutest little garden venue a couple blocks from the ocean. Seriously, this was a great venue. Light and airy, with a huge open and green backyard. Even if you’re just looking for a venue on the coast, but don’t want an oceanfront ceremony, this place would be great for an intimate indoor or outdoor wedding. It even has an outdoor patio with cafe lights, perfect for an outdoor dance floor. Which we all know I love those as well!!!
It was a rainy and overcast day, but the rain stopped pretty much right before the wedding ceremony and started up again shortly thereafter. We had just enough time to do some group photos and then a couple photos of the couple and their beautiful kids before they were ready to run for cover.
It was such a sweet and thoughtful wedding and we loved working with this couple. Best wishes!
