These two were married in Spring, which can still be an iffy time for weather. But this may have been the most pleasant weather of the whole year. Seriously, the day was beautiful. Not too cold, and so sunny, with blue skies and fluffy clouds. The couple looked pretty fantastic themselves as well! We started with wedding portraits at Ecola State Park for their first look.
I met the groom at an overlook, got him all set up and ready, and then the bride joined us a bit later. She had a bit of a hike from the parking lot to the spot we were at, which only helped to heighten the groom’s anticipation! There were so many pretty spots at the overlook, so we took a variety of shots in the different areas. I love all the wind swept trees, and there was one lonely one in the middle of the open space that was perfect in framing some open sky. The bride’s parents came along to help out. They even helped me with some reflector work! There was so much laughter, it was great!
CEREMONY ON THE BEACH
After we finished up with portraits at Ecola, we headed down the hill back into town. We drove to the South end of Cannon Beach for the ceremony on Tolovana Beach Wayside. I’d never been to the south end of the beach before, so it was fun getting a new angle of Haystack Rock.
Closer to the water it was actually freezing, so I arrived to all the guests huddled together for warmth. It was adorable. The couple even included their little dog, who was dressed to the nines. I love the shot I got of him at the reception.
Finally, after the ceremony everyone headed over to Morris Fireside for an intimate dinner reception in their cozy fireplace room. Congrats you two!!!
