These two had a Willamette Valley Vineyards wedding that included a Pusheen toss instead of a bouquet toss! The bride loves stuffed animals and has a pretty large collection. Therefore, she wanted to incorporate some of her favorites into the wedding day. Some of her friends even showed up in special Pusheen t-shirts.
Willamette Valley Vineyards Wedding
The vineyard has a lovely getting ready suite for couples to use before the wedding. The bride and groom got ready together, which I always think is a sweet option. The bride started the day wearing a white dress, and later changed into a traditional red Chinese dress. I loved their colorful paper flower boutonnieres and corsages. We started with portraits of the two of them around the vineyards, which are beautiful.
It was the weekend of a Shakespeare Festival, and there was a tent full of costumes and wigs. The groom, being playful, grabbed a wig to wear for a few portraits of himself before the bride joined us. We also took some portraits of them in the wine barrel room. Afterwards, it was time for the ceremony, which was held under a tent overlooking the vineyards.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
The cocktail hour was in the barrel room as well. It was a fun space. In fact, there was a photo booth as well as a bar. Following cocktail hour, everyone returned to the tent for the reception. And just in time for sunset! We grabbed a few more portraits of the couple with the setting sun before joining the reception. This time, the bride was in her red dress. Sunset over the vineyards was amazing. After some very touching toasts, the party started! Of course there was plenty of dancing as well.
But the highlight of the evening was definitely the Pusheen toss! I’ve seen some pretty theatrical bouquet tosses in my life, but the excitement of this group may take the cake. See for yourself in the photos below. And the bride tossed not one, but three Pusheens! Such a fun idea!
