This micro wedding at Opal 28 was just beautiful, and the couple was so adorable. The bride was truly radiant and just glowing with happiness all day. This was my first time working at this venue, and I loved it’s urban/industrial/neighborhood feeling courtyard. Such a cute venue right in the happening neighborhood on NE 28th.

I’m so happy to see weddings picking up again now that we’re all getting used to navigating this new way of living. I’ve always loved small weddings, and feel that they are always full of thoughtfulness and intimacy. There are so many great venues around Portland for intimate weddings, and Opal 28 is a lovely option!

I started this day with the couple’s first look. The couple opted to do their first look in a park just a block away from the venue. There was such gorgeous light coming through the trees, so magical! And finally a touch of fall colors are showing in the leaves. We walked around the block for a few portraits together, made friends with a neighborhood kitty, and headed back for the ceremony!

Guests gathered in the back courtyard area for the ceremony. It’s such a fun space; with trees, and brick, and greenery, and stairwells… very urban, but cozy. The couple wrote their own vows, which is always my favorite. So sweet and so many great expressions.

Afterwards everyone mingled inside for cocktail hour while the courtyard was flipped for the reception. There was dinner & toasts… from which I also captured some fun expressions! And, of course, cake cutting and the first dance. I loved that everything took place outside, but felt so warm and cozy. Thinking about getting married soon?
