It seems every time I’ve seen these two over the past years, they are heading off for a hike or a spontaneous overnight camping trip. So, it’s only fitting that they chose wedding day venues that combined the two. They bundled up their love of the outdoors, and the beauty of our state, with yes, even a little camping! They had a Mt Hood Crag Rat Hut wedding, and all their guests camped with them at a nearby campground. And it was all so perfect!
What’s prettier than the Hood River Valley???
They started their day getting ready with friends and family at the cutest and quirkiest little cabin rental called The Panorama Lodge. It was a pretty large lodge, and it was full of energy from everyone getting final details ready for the day!
From there we drove past row after row of fruit trees at various orchards (stopping for a few photos of course!). If you’ve never driven along the famous “Fruit Loop” drive in Summer, you’re missing out! It’s so beautiful and there are fruit stands all along the drive so that you can taste all the beauty as well.
CEREMONY OVERLOOKING THE VALLEY
We eventually made our way to The Crag Rat Hut, where all the main wedding day festivities took place. The Crag Rat Hut has amazing views of Mt Hood and the valley, and is really just an all around great venue. Plus, they use their rental income to support their search and rescue mission. The Crag Rats are the oldest mountain search and rescue group in North America.
The venue has an outdoor patio area that overlooks the valley and the mountain. It’s a popular spot for ceremonies. There’s also a wrap around upper deck, and large rooms on both levels. Both rooms have windows that overlook the view as well.
After the wedding, everyone headed to a nearby campground and cuddled around the campfire.
If you’re planning a Mt Hood Crag Rat Hut wedding, let me know!
