These two live in Illinois, but visit Portland every Summer with friends, and have always loved McMenamins. Therefore, it was only fitting that they have their wedding in Oregon at McMenamin’s Edgefield in Troutdale! Their Mcmenamins Edgefield wedding was awesome!
The couple booked me from out of state, but I got to meet them a few months later when I visited my friends in Chicago. We met up for an engagement session in the city. It was a freezing cold day, but we still had a wonderful time. They brought along their daughter for the session as well. She was such a sweetheart! I was counting down the months until the big day ever since.
It was a record hot day for a Portland June (photo shoots with these two include weather extremes lol), but it didn’t stop the fun and festivities! Edgefield is such a great venue for a wedding, with so many pretty and interesting nooks and lush areas.
CEREMONY AT THE ADMINISTRATOR’S HOUSE
They got ready in the Administrator’s House, which was a really adorable space. It is pretty private as well, even though it’s right next to the main hotel. We did a few portraits around the house and venue, and then it was time for the ceremony. Their ceremony was just outside the house in the Administrator’s yard, a brick covered courtyard surrounded by trees and greenery.
It was a very emotional ceremony and at one point, all three of them were wiping away tears (bride, groom & officiant). So sweet! Then we headed to a few other areas of the property for some more portraits of the two of them. There’s a great veggie/flower garden with a red door, a big water tower, and lots of fun buildings. Instead of a formal cocktail hour, they let their guests mingle around on their own to explore the property. Everyone met up a little later in The Attic for the reception and party!
The bride and groom drove around the country afterwards on a honeymoon road trip. Best wishes you two!
