Here’s an amazing woodsy outdoor wedding at Loloma Lodge on the McKenzie River! I loved this couple and this venue. They incorporated so many fun and colorful details, and they even added a few Hawaiian traditions as well.
Wedding at Loloma Lodge
The Loloma Lodge is tucked back in the woods along the McKenzie River in Blue River Oregon, and made for the perfect setting for a rustic northwestern wedding. The lodge is beautiful, the cabins are cute, the reception area is the perfect layout for outdoor dining, and the ceremony is a short and scenic walk down a hill next to the river. So much variety! I also loved the bride’s choice of green colors for her bridesmaids dresses… they were perfect against the colors of the forest, and all looked great together!
The wedding occurred underneath a gazebo next to the river, and underneath tall trees. It was a nice walk from the lodge down to the river’s edge. The couple strung hundreds of colorful paper origami cranes from the gazebo which was very unique. Afterwards we took portraits of the wedding party in the forest and on a wooden bridge built over a stream.
The Reception
The reception was beautiful. Cafe lights were hanging above the tables. Although it was light outside the entire time I was there, the lights created a nice sparkle in the background of the images. In addition, burlap runners lined the tables along with vases full of rocks the couple collected. One of my favorite parts of the day was a hula dance performance. Moreover, I also love their cake. It looks like birch tree bark, and done very well. Furthermore, their initials were “carved” into it with a heart, as though it were carved onto a tree.
You can rent cabins at Loloma as well. I look forward to visiting this place again, whether as a photographer or a tourist!
