This bride and groom tied the knot at Coopers Hall in Southeast Portland, but we photographed most of their wedding portraits at Hotel Vintage and Tanner Springs Park. Hotel Vintage is a gorgeous boutique hotel in downtown Portland. Tanner Springs Park is near Fields Park in the heart of the Pearl District. The bride’s room at Hotel Vintage had fantastic natural light with huge windows, and a gorgeous red couch. The bridesmaids wore colorful mismatched floral robes while getting ready. The bride’s sister had a side of french fries delivered to the room and all the bridesmaids snuggled up on the bed to eat them. A young flower girl applied makeup for one of the older bridesmaids. That was really sweet, and she did a great job!
The bridesmaids wore mossy forest green dresses. The groomsmen wore gray suits with awesome yellow calico floral ties. The groom wore Bob Ross novelty socks. He gifted each of his groomsmen a different pair of funny socks for their personalities. The guys mimicked the girls by snuggling up on the bed to show off all their socks.
The Wedding Portraits at Tanner Springs:
We all took a Lyft from the Hotel Vintage to Tanner Springs Park for the wedding portraits.
Tanner Springs Park is such a great location and backdrop for portraits because the colors and textures provide great variety. It mixes both the cosmopolitan city feel of the Pearl District with beloved natural and outdoorsy aspects of Oregon. The surrounding streets of the Pearl District offer many easy backdrop options as well. The bride and groom had their first look on the boardwalk at Tanner Springs, after the bride had a first look with her father.
We took more wedding portraits a few blocks away from Tanner Springs Park along a sidewalk that was covered in tiny yellow leaves. The trees were still filled with the yellow Autumn colored leaves, so we took advantage of the fall colors for more wedding portraits.
Coopers Hall
We finished the wedding party portraits around Hotel Vintage and Tanner Springs Park and took a Lyft to the wedding venue. Cooper’s Hall is a winery and taproom in Southeast Portland and is a fantastic venue for a wedding.
The couple decorated with tons of eucalyptus and ivory and peach flowers. They were married in front of a wall of wine barrels which made for a very vineyard feel. The ceiling was completely covered in lush strands of eucalyptus. After the ceremony, we took a few more wedding portraits around the block with just the couple, and then the reception party started!
