Tucked away in the middle of Portland’s industrial NW neighborhood is one of the city’s best-kept secrets: The Orangerie, a greenhouse nestled inside Pomarius Nursery, perfect for a dreamy greenhouse wedding. With frosty floor-to-ceiling walls, greenery in every direction, and soft natural light pouring in, it’s like stepping into a hidden garden oasis — no extra décor required.
This couple fully embraced the venue’s lush, plant-filled vibe. Instead of traditional florals, the bride and her crew carried adorable crocheted bouquets (yes, crocheted!), letting the greenhouse’s natural beauty take the spotlight. The day was intimate and intentionally small, with just their closest people there to celebrate — and you could feel the love in every moment.
Dreamy Greenhouse Wedding
One of my talented associate photographers captured the day and did such a beautiful job telling the story. She arrived just before the ceremony, catching some of the pre-ceremony moments — guests arriving, little details tucked around the space, and that soft early-evening glow.
The ceremony itself took place inside The Orangerie, surrounded by plants and golden light. Since the couple chose not to do a first look, portraits happened right after the ceremony — sweet, relaxed shots of the two of them around the venue, followed by family groupings while guests mingled nearby.
Reception and Twinkle Lights
As the sun dipped behind the trees and the sky turned dusky, the celebration moved toward dinner. Twinkling cafe lights strung around the venue made the whole space feel extra romantic. The reception was also in the Orangerie, with some details around Blockhouse, a cozy chef’s kitchen just steps away from The Orangerie, also tucked within Pomarius Nursery. The patio connecting the two spaces is covered by a clear tent, making it perfect for year-round gatherings — rain or shine.
This wedding was the perfect mix of laid-back, intentional, and intimate. Every corner of the venue felt full of warmth, love, and community — exactly the kind of energy we love to capture.
