This Portland Yacht Club wedding was just perfection. This sweet couple wanted a very laid-back day to celebrate with their closest friends and family, and that is just what they had!

Portland Yacht Club Wedding

After a week of temps in the 90s, the universe gave us very mild Summer weather for this wedding at the yacht club in North Portland. It was a beautiful sunshiny day, and all the blues and greens just popped. The yacht club sits right on the Columbia River, off Marine Drive. It is such a great venue for a wedding overlooking the water. They have a wonderful outdoor space for the ceremony, as well as reception and cocktail. There’s a large window to provide outdoor bar access as well, which is super cute. Because of the hot temps earlier in the week, the couple opted to do dinner indoors to be safe. But they were able to open all the doors to let the breeze and fresh air in.

A Wedding On The River

The bride got into her dress with the help of her mom, and then the groom arrived. I photographed the couple having a first look and then we took a few portraits around the venue. Next, the couple’s daughters arrived. The bride gifted them with some special bracelets engraved with their initials, and Grandpa made sure their dress ribbons were tied with a perfect bow. I was told he is the best bow tier around! We did a few family and friends photos and there was a pre-ceremony cocktail hour for everyone to get settled in. I love this flow for the wedding day! The ceremony was held in the lawn, overlooking the river. Afterwards, everyone went back to cocktail hour for more mingling, and then a plated dinner was served. After toasts there was tons of dancing!
