I was so excited to photograph another Timberline Lodge Wedding in Summer! This is a gorgeous venue, and while it’s pretty under snow, I also love it in mid-Summer.
Timberline Lodge Wedding In Summer
This venue is truly one of a kind! If you don’t know much about the lodge, it is a historic mountain retreat on Mount Hood in Oregon. Built from 1936 to 1938 as a WPA project during the Great Depression, it showcases Cascadian architecture and local craftsmanship. The lodge is renowned for its natural surroundings, ski facilities, and preservation of regional heritage. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to attract visitors seeking outdoor activities and a glimpse into the past. And, I like to remind people that its exterior was used for setting the scene in The Shining. I love that the officiant wore a tie with the iconic carpet print from the film.
Timberline Lodge is a great venue for a wedding during any season. It’s especially nice for anyone dreaming of a winter wonderland wedding, but it’s equally gorgeous if you want gorgeous summertime views of Mt Hood. The venue has a variety of spaces indoors and outdoors.
Raven’s Nest Reception
The ceremony was held outside, with Mt. Hood looming over the couple in the background. A nearby fire had brought in a blanket of smoke earlier in the day, but it had mostly cleared up by the ceremony time! After the ceremony, there was a big of outdoor mingling and everyone took photos with the view. Afterward, everyone headed inside and upstairs to The Raven’s Nest. The Raven’s Nest has lofted ceilings and huge windows that still give a great view of the mountain.
