Last weekend I photographed a lovely Raven’s Nest Wedding at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. It was a gorgeous sunny and warm day, but just because it’s June doesn’t mean Summer! Just a couple of days ago it snowed at Timberline. What?! I have so enjoyed working with this adorable couple, and I’m excited to share these images!

Raven’s Nest Wedding at Timberline Lodge

If you’ve ever been to Timberline, I’m sure you were wowed by it’s sturdy beauty. Every time I climb the stairs there, I can feel how solid the entire structure is under my feet. However, you may not know that there are quite a few event spaces tucked away around the property.

One of my favorites is The Raven’s Nest. Down a long hallway, and up a flight of stairs, it’s reminiscent of an attic space… or a nest! There’s a tall raven sculpture that is the centerpiece of the room. And huge windows give great views and provide lots of natural light.

Since it was sunny out, the cocktail hour was outside on the back patio, overlooking the mountain. The wedding took place in the morning, therefore breakfast pastries were served with mimosas.

Colorful Mt. Hood Reception

I loved the colorful flower arrangements by Amanda Karam Floral Company. They were so cheerful and vibrant, and looked really great against the colors of the mountain and sky, as well as the wood of the lodge.

The reception was perfectly laid back with just the right balance of tradition and personal touches. Toasts were given and then the couple cut the most intricately detailed cake I’ve ever seen. It was beautiful! In fact, it was also delicious! I’ve never seen an entire cake cut and served as fast as this one was!
